Self Referred
You do not need a referral to see a psychologist.  You can just call us and make an appointment.  Please feel free to contact our practice to discuss our fees with us.  You may be able to receive a rebate if you have private health insurance, depending on your health plan.

Medicare
Medicare rebates are now available to clients receiving psychological services with a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician.  Under this scheme you may be eligible for up to 10 therapy sessions per calendar year.  The current Medicare rebates for a 50 minute consultation with a Psychologist is $93.35.

Medicare requires you to return to your GP for a review after your initial six sessions to determine if you are eligible for a further four sessions with your psychologist.

Please note we do not bulk bill.

Government Subsidised Programs
Psychology session fees may also be subsidised through the Better Outcomes for Mental Health (BOMH) which is managed by the Nepean-Blue Mountains Medicare Local.  Your GP will need to assess you to determine if you qualify.

Insurance
APP Psychologists also provide assessment and treatment for people with Workcover (Workers Compensation), CTP (motor vehicle accident) claims and Lifetime Care.  With these referrals there is usually no fee to the client as we will invoice the insurer or payer directly.  We will require a referral from their GP and we will follow up approval from the insurer prior to commencing therapy.

Payment
Payment is made by cash, credit card or EFTPOS at the time of your appointment.  Clinical services offered by a psychologist are GST free, however reports written by a psychologist will include GST.

Sessions
Initial appointments are typically 50-60 minutes long and subsequent appointments are 50 minutes duration.  At your initial consultation the psychologist will identified your goals and expectations of treatment and a treatment plan will be formulated in consultation with you.

Hours
Business and after hours appointment are available for your convenience.

Cancellation Fee
We would appreciate that you let us know more than 24 hours of your appointment if you need to change this time or you cannot attend.  50% of the consultation fee will be charged if you do not give us 24 business hours notice.
